"Fix by Five" - Why is it important?
It has been proven that young kittens have it easier when fixed before 5 months.
Their smaller size cuts down on complications and risks, less sleepy meds, faster recovery. Shorter duration for their entire procedure from prep to recovery,
helps our clinic serve more animals in less time.
Larger, older cats may have preexisting conditions or health issues we have to use more caution with and usually need additional recovery time.
Don't hesitate to 'fix by five'.
For many healthy kittens, as long as they are a minimum of 2lbs we are able to safely sterilize them, this may be as young as 8 weeks old.
